Oral History Film Premier
Rise Up, the church’s own anti-racism group, has partnered with Foundation for Beacon Schools to create Lines of Demarcation, a community-made oral history film project that explores the lived experiences of senior residents from Beacon's black communities throughout the 20th century. Comprising powerful interviews led by Beacon High School students in collaboration with community volunteers from Rise Up Project, Lines of Demarcation weaves together a moving portrait of the power of family and community, the effects of racism, and the political and economic forces that shape and alter the course of our lives.
**The film Lines of Demarcation will be shown these dates:
Saturday, Feb. 24 at 2 p.m. at St. Andrew & St. Luke’s, 15 South Ave.
Tuesday, Feb. 27 at 6 p.m. at Beacon High School
Free Admission. Reserve a seat here or purchase a T-shirt here.
